Gary Is Finally Home

At 7:10 on November 18, 2007, Gary Hundley went home to receive his inheritance from the Lord. The Lord chose to keep him from suffering too long, and we are so blessed because of that.

We were so grateful that Hope and his two daughters were there to help send him to the one place he longed for. And we can't wait to see him again when the Lord brings us home with him.

There are no set plans for the funeral; please stay posted for those as soon as we know.

Words cannot express the love we have for those of you who prayed for Gary during this journey. We are so honored.

Gary made an impact for Christ on earth and is now making an impact at Home. Everyone at PCA was touched by his life and his support of Hope and Erin as they serve our children. We pray for his family that suffers from the loss. May we glorify God in our lives as Gary did during his.

I once shared with Gary a passage from PGA tour player Paul Azinger's book which gave an account of Zinger's battle with cancer. My memory being what it is, this may not be an exact quote but...A wise Christian friend told Paul that "we are not in the land of the living trying to stay out of the land of the dead...rather...we are in the land of the dieing with an awesome opportunity to enter the land of the living." We are comforted with the blessed assurance that Gary had totally and completely embraced the opportunity we are all given to spend an eternity with all who have accepted Jesus as Lord and gone before us.

We do acknowledge God as the giver of every good and perfect gift and we count among the many gifts He has given us the love and friendship and time that we had with Gary while sharing this temporary physical journey.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Hope and the entire family.

Bud and Keith and Ken (The rest of the Faith Radio Golf Team) will always take a mulligan in honor of our friend and Brother in Christ. It was such a blessing to serve and play with Gary. We will forever cherish the times we had together playing for a higher purpose and look forward to an eternal reunion.

We praise God for this ultimate healing and for Gary's new beginning.

Happy Trails my Brother...

We were so blessed to know Gary. The times that he visited our church and home are some of our fondest memories. He was truly a man after God's heart and he will be missed. May our Lord give you all peace and comfort in the days ahead. You will be in our prayers.

On the afternoon by mother went home to be with the Lord my husband couldn't be with me and called Gary to go to the nursing home and check on me. Gary was out calling on pastors in another county but got in the car and headed back to Montgomery when Al called. I'll never forget Gary's smile, love and compassion. He was and is truly one of God's great men. He will be greatly missed until we see him again in Heaven.

Love and prayers to Hope and the girls.

Gary modeled unconditional love better than anyone I have known, except for my mother. Working with him was one of the highlights of my life. I've told many of my new friends in Austin about the joy and laughter that always surrounded Gary and his sweet family. We will be praying for you. John and Paula (Sharpe) Alvelo

I Love You! I am so Thankful for God blessing me with you and our friendship. We have prayed, encouraged, supported, shared, loved, laughed, played (specifically golf), and I have grown in my relationship with The Lord because of you. You have made me a better man in so many ways. Thank you for your example and your leadership as a Man of God, a Christian, a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather and a Friend! I am so Blessed to have you as my Brother and my Friend!!! Keep on Preaching!!!!
Hope, you know my Love for you and your family and my prayers are with each of you!

Although we never had the opportunity to meet Gary in person, his witness and testimony to us, and to so many others, over FAITH Radio, is so very much appreciated.

It is often, that when someone's earthly life ends, the ways they used "the dash" between birth and death dates becomes even more precious in memory. Know that Gary's "dash time" was used by God's directives in ways that all who were touched by his life, in any way, will never forget.

Thanking God for Gary's life on earth, rejoicing with you in knowing that he immediately passed into "life unending", and praying that all of you who were privileged to be chosen to be his earthly family will be sustained in the days and years ahead by the thoughts, prayers, and memories of others, and especially by the "inner Peace and Comfort" which only God can give.

To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. To God be the glory. I thank God for GARY HUNDLEY. I praise God for using him to bring joy and happiness to me each time I heard his voice on Faith Radio. Again, Ms. Hope do know that we are praying with you and the girls during this time.

Rest on Brother Gary, and we will see you in glory!

Gary was a true man of God. He was self-less, kind, and encouraging. We will miss him tremendously. He really blessed our lives. It is an honor and privilege to have known him. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

May God grant Hope and the family and all the great folks at Faith Radio His peace in this challenging season. We love you.
